The turtle “Boba” returned to its habitat.

The animal was brought back to the sea in Almeria, where it was rescued in 2002.

A protected marine turtle, of the Caretta Caretta specie, also known as Boba Turtle, was set free last Saturday in Zapillo Beach (Almería), totally recovered after his fin was amputated because of a wound caused by a fishing net.

According to the Conservation Programme “Promar” and “Ecologistas en Acción” manager, Francisco Toledano, a veterinarian team who has worked with the turtle boarded the turtle on a zodiac and they released him in the same area of the sea where he was rescued last 2002.

The last day in captivity the animal’s carers experienced with expectation and nervosity, although the veterinarians trust him to be able to live in his natural environment again without any problems.
